Think domestic NSA spying is no big deal? Think again!

Our friends at the Daily Kos have once again compiled a great number of details about the illegal spy program implemented on ordinary Americans. They have a wonderful article which debunks many of the fallacies that may persist in some people’s minds which lead them to dismiss the Bush-ordered program as a non-issue.
America, don’t be fooled! Remember, this is the land of the free, not a locked-down prison camp. I suppose everyone won’t mind when we’ll have to get barcodes embedded on the back of our necks, gas will be $5.00/gallon, blogs and forums will be illegal in public buildings, and disagreeing with any Presidential opinion will get you locked up in a foreign prison with no chance to speak with a lawyer. So what happens if Al Qaeda operatives decide to just randomly ring the phone of thousands of ordinary American citizens… or even politicians? Will the black helicopters suddenly appear and whisk these innocent people off to Guantanamo bay with no warrants? How will you deny that you’re not a terrorist? You won’t get a chance, unfortunately… be very afraid.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. — Benjamin Franklin
